1. What Nossa Horta is
Nossa Horta is a free pilot project by two young people from Fundão. It connects neighbours to sell, give away or swap local produce and small services, through Pati (an artificial intelligence assistant on WhatsApp) and the app. It is not a shop or a company: it is a community. Using Nossa Horta means accepting these terms and the privacy policy.

2. Who can use it
Only people aged 18 or over. By answering OK to Pati's first message, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that you accept these terms.
3. What may be posted
- Allowed: fresh fruit and vegetables, seeds, plants and seedlings, eggs, honey, jams and preserves (home-made, and we say so), and services and teaching.
- Not allowed: meat and fish; raw milk and home-made cheese; wild mushrooms; alcohol (including aguardente and wine); medicines and supplements; plant-protection products (pesticides, herbicides); tobacco and vapes; weapons; live animals; drugs.
This list is provisional and may change. A listing that does not comply is refused and not stored. Each listing stays active for 2 days.
4. Payments and pickup
During the pilot, payments are made in person, between neighbours, at pickup. Nossa Horta charges no commission and does not receive any money. Pickup is at a meeting point chosen by the person selling; we advise a public place (the parish council, a café, the square) and not your home. The pickup point appears on the public map; your phone number and your address do not (see the privacy policy).
5. Conduct
- Be honest about what you offer and keep to what was agreed, including the pickup time.
- Treat others with respect. Do not harass, deceive or scam anyone, and do not post anything illegal.
- Do not send sensitive data or other people's data.
- Whoever offers food is responsible for it being safe and well described.
6. Reports, blocks and missed pickups
You can report or block anyone; a blocked person stops seeing you and you stop seeing them. Missing an agreed pickup counts as a miss; after two misses, reservations are paused for 14 days. We may refuse or remove listings, and pause or stop the use of anyone who breaks these rules.
7. STOP and ERASE
Write PARAR (or STOP) at any time to stop receiving messages and withdraw your listings. Write APAGAR (erase) to erase all your data. This is explained in the privacy policy.
8. Pati is an AI
Pati is an artificial intelligence program and can make mistakes. The important rules (who sees what, STOP, ERASE) are fixed and do not depend on the AI. If something goes wrong, write to us.
9. Liability
Nossa Horta is a community pilot project and the service is provided as it is. We are not a party to the swaps, sales or donations between neighbours, we do not check the products or the people, and we do not promise that the service works without faults. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage resulting from exchanges between neighbours or from faults in the service. This does not remove rights that the law does not allow to be removed.
10. Changes
We may change these terms. If the change is relevant, we will tell you on WhatsApp before it applies. The current version is always at nossahorta.pt/terms/.
